Founder | Managing Director
Brian is our Founder and Managing Director at BIS Cosgrove.
He attained his Commerce Degree from the University of Queensland, ultimately going on to become a Senior Tax Investigator in the Brisbane branch of the Australian Taxation Office, where his career spanned 18 years. Brian then relocated to Papua New Guinea, moving into a consulting role to the PNG Tax office. Upon his return to Australia, he and his family moved to the Gold Coast in 1990. He has been in Public Practice and a Tax Agent since then, founding Cosgrove and Co Pty Ltd in January of 1997.
After 40 years of membership, Brian is now a Fellow of the CPAs. He has held SMSFA Specialist Advisor accreditation since 2005, and having also completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) Course, has built up a significant amount of knowledge and experience.
Providing Structural Advice and Tax Planning in our accounting division, (Cosgrove and Co P/L), and SMSF Strategy and Estate Planning for our Financial Services Licensed arm (Balanced Investment Strategies P/L), Brian advises clients over a number of areas, and is sought after for his specialist knowledge in these areas.
